Friday Five: Sewn Baby Gifts

So it has been awhile since I have done a Friday Five. Let's be honest I have barely blogged lately. So my baby turns one next month, which is so hard to believe. I also have friends & neighbors having babies in the upcoming months. Though my sewing time is limited right now, here are 5 cute things to make as baby gifts.

Friday Five: 5 Things to do in March

Since today is the 1st day of March I thought it would be fun to 5 things to do this month. Now I know is St. Patrick's Day & Easter are this month. WOW. That alone makes it a party, but did you know there are many, many cool things about the month of March. Here are 5 more things to Do & Celebrate this March.

Friday Five: 5 Things to Do & Celebrate This March! 

1.   March 2nd - It is Dr. Seuss Birthday! Celebrate this literary genius. 

          We had a party for Dr. Seuss last year & it was a blast. Join in the fun this year. Here are some things you can do:

• Read a little bio about the great Theodore Seuss Giesel here 
• Eat Green Eggs & Ham for Breakfast
• Read, Read, Read all of Dr. Seuss wonderful books
•  Watch a Dr. Seuss Movie. Like maybe this one:
  
• I think making these: Rainbow Pinwheel cookies, would fit Dr. Seuss perfectly.
•

• Play Charades & act out scenes from your favorite Dr. Seuss story.
• Just be silly. 
• Spend time making up Rhymes or you can use this awesome downloadable rhyming game from Sweet Rose Studio. Here is a peek:

2. March 14. Albert Eisenstein Birthday.  You can celebrate this literal Genius as well.

        I would also like to point out that it is the day of PI.  You know PI. 3.14 (the date) is also the math number for PI. Sorry moving on. So here are some fun things you could do to celebrate Albert Einstein.    

•  Learn all you can in this small bio on Albert Einstein
• Learn some German Words
• Eat German Food
• One of my favorite quotes by Albert Einstein is."If you want your child to be intelligent read him fairy tales. If you want your child to be even more intelligent read him more fairy tales."
• Read your child fairy tales
• Do science projects with your kids:
•  Here are few fun ones: Engineering Projects for Kids, A List of Science Projects from the Kitchen, 
• Quantum Fun looks like a great read.
• End the day on a light note & watch this.
  
  It is quite cute!

3.   March 15, is  Incredible Kid Day
           Whether this is an official holiday or not. Your kids truly are incredible. Take a day & recognize each of them for the person they are.

•  Say yes to them as much as you can on this day.
• Write them a note, telling them why you think they are an Incredible Kid.
• Take time to be a Deliberate mother this day. Put down your techno gadgets & give them your full attention.
• Make a favorite meal for them.
• Hug them & kiss them & tell them you love them.

4. March 19, is National Agriculture Day.
 Now since Ag is our livelihood & lifestyle.  I definitely think this is one worth celebrating. On this day you could:

• Spend a little time to better understand Agriculture.
• Learn about how food is produced & distributed.
• Visit a local Ag business, a farm, a ranch, ect.
• Eat well today. As you do, think about all that goes into bringing the food you eat to your table.
• Read some book about Ag.
• 
• Kansas Farm Bureau has these whole series. Check them out. 
• Watch this once again, & then again.
• 
  

5.  Celebrate the 1st day of Spring on March 20th.

•  Learn about the different seasons
• Go visit your local park, or take an outdoor walk
• Start some seeds indoors.
• Growing a Jeweled Rose has a list of 100 Spring Activities for Kids.

Friday Five

I thought it would be fun to start doing a Friday Five. Five things we love, hate, annoy us or whatever I desire every Friday. 5 things. I will try to stay more on the love side than any thing else. I do like to leave my options open however. :0). So for our first time ever here is our Friday Five:

5 Random things someone in this house hold loves right now!

1. Long Red Underwear
These are my absolute favorite baby pajamas ever. So adorable. I sit and just admire my little boy in these whenever I make him wear them. How could you not?





2. Blogpress App



It has allowed me to start blogging again while on the road. I can input pictures wherever I want, change my font, add hyperlink, ect. It works so much better than blogger that I had before. It makes me happy that I can blog again!!!!

3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles


When asking my 5 year old about his new founded love & why he loves this so much.

His reply, "They are real turtles mom. That someone grew up, & put masks on them. Then they gave them weapons & they are real, live turtles!"

I guess that nothing more needs said.

4. Contacts



I recently got contacts again after going about 3 years without. Love. Why in the world did I ever let myself go without?

5. Chocolate Covered Pomegranate.



I don't even like Pomegranates. These I adore. There are on the side of spendy so I don't purchase them too often. My local SAMs Club is the cheapest place I can find them. If you haven't tried them. I would. It's pure love for these!
